I started the “Abandoned” in 2015 thinking I’d be done three weeks later. I am surprised to find myself still shooting.

These photographs explore personal abandonment as well as America’s addiction to the new and shiny. Many other countries value their buildings. Here, organizations form to fight to preserve old buildings because developers and governments prefer to tear them down.

I shot the series with an Apple iPod touch, which an imprecise device that naturally lends an unfinished quality to the subjects in the series, which include abandoned dwellings, buildings, gas stations, warehouses, and objects, as well as homes succumbing to nature.
